[Please, please keep in mind these people have no say in who’s actually cast, they’re simply throwing their opinions into the mix. Though, personally, I say he’s the best option I’ve heard thus far.]

Looks like a few amateur casting directors want Xavier to play Finnick Odair in the next Hunger Games installment Catching Fire:

“… we’re gonna suggest Xavier Samuel, who may be a little young for the role, but has all that big-featured plushness that the almost androgynous Finnick (one gets the impression that he was a concubine for both men and women) should probably have. Plus he looks a little mean.” (The Atlantic Wire)

“Australian Xavier Samuel has got the good boy looks to play Finnick. However, he appeared in Twilight: Eclipse as Riley, which might stop the casting team from looking too closely at him.” (Take 40)

LA Times suggests Robert Pattinson, Xavier Samuel for Rolling Stones biopic

The LA Times is doing some casting suggestions for Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for a Rolling Stones biopic. See their suggestions for Keith (Rob) and Mick (Xavier) and other choices here.

When the Rolling Stones guitarist was working on “Exile,” he was recording in a big basement and not seeing much direct sunlight, so a pale, vampiric actor such as Robert Pattinson might be a good, safe choice.

Certainly this casting would please the ladies (but depress the Stones fans).

The magnetic Australian actor is best known for his role in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and at a certain angle is a ringer for Jagger.

And since Xavier Samuel proved in “Eclipse” that he’s a good fighter, he’d be able to accurately capture the tension between Jagger and Richards.

According to Movie Hole, “John Carter” star Taylor Kitsch is being considered for the role of Daredevil in David Slade’s franchise reboot. In a feature on “15 Actors That Were Nearly Superheroes,” Movie Hole stated a few actors under consideration to play Matt Murdock, including Kitsch.

“David Slade is rebooting the franchise with everyone from Xavier Samuel (‘A Few Best Men’) to Taylor Kitsch (‘John Carter’) said to be in contention,” Movie Hole said.

According to MTV, a rumor has been circulating that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Xavier Samuel (“Riley Biers”) made an impression on The Mortal Instruments studio Screen Gems when auditioning for the part of “Jace Wayland” and it is now anticipated that he might still nab a role in the film adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s series of the same name.

Of course, it was another Twilight star who was cast as “Jace”: Jamie Campbell Bower.

Funny enough, Bower and Samuel never worked together on the set of The Twilight Saga (as Bower’s character was not featured in Eclipse and Samuel’s was exclusively in that film), but they did end up working together on Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous (due in October).

Whether Samuel will actually land a role in The Mortal Instruments remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a nice possibility.

When thinking of the Twilight Saga’s castmembers which have the biggest break-out potential, Bower and Samuel immediately came to mind for me. Samuel’s “Riley Biers” audition was famously done online from across the globe (from his home country of Australia), leaving quite an impression on the filmmakers for that one; so it’d be no surprise if Screen Gems wanted to fit him into the Mortal Instruments picture based on his audition for another part. Such a project could indeed be the next break-out potential for Xavier Samuel.

Latest buzz: Names like Logan Lerman and Asher Book have been bandied about for a while now, but the most intriguing rumor of late (courtesy of Young Adult Fantasy Guide webmaster Stacey O’Neale) is that “Eclipse” star Xavier Samuel auditioned for Jace, and though he didn’t score the role, he made quite an impression on Screen Gems. Could he be a Simon contender? (Personally I think he’s too old and a little too good looking for the part, but I won’t say no to more Xavier in my movies.)

Last Saturday, director David Slade (Twilight Saga: Eclipse) used his personal twitter account to promise that we can expect some “official news” this week about his next project Sony Pictures’ new Daredevil movie. Well, the week is nearly over and we’re still awaiting that official news, but Slade may have given us a huge hint about what that news might be by squeezing a photo of a Twilight star between his rants about 3-D — “No I am not a fan of 3d and I need to write an essay as to why” — and his idea for a new body part-related acronym for Twilight fans — “BREASTS” for “Better Respect Edward and Swan Twilight Saga.”

Twilight fans will recognize the man to the right as Xavier Samuel, who Slade cast to play Bella-hunter Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. While not an “official” announcement of any kind, it seems kind of suspect that Slade would promise Daredevil news and then upload this photo of Samuel looking very much like Matt Murdock. Heck, Samuel’s already got a hint of red in his hair and he’s even wearing dark sunglasses indoors, just like Murdock would since, you know, he’s blind and all. If this does turn out to be true, remember that you heard it first here at Reelz!
